Eiffel Tower
Built: 1989
Designed by Gustave Eiffel and finished in 1989, the Eiffel
Tower was built for the World Fair and to celbrate the centenary
of the French Revolution in 1789. The Eiffel Tower stands
at 324 metres and for over 40 years was the tallest structure
in the world until the completion of the Empire State Building.
The tower is internationally recognised as the iconic structure
of Paris. The three viewing platforms offer absolutely stunning
views over the whole of Paris and on a clear day you can see
as far as 65km.
