Out & About

Karpaz Peninsula

To the east of Northern Cyprus is the Karpas Peninsula also known as the Pan Handle due to its shape. I'd highly recommend a drive throuh this area as there is some very beautiful, unspoilt scenery here. Wild donkeys roam around the fields and there are miles of golden beaches. Immerse yourself in the scenery by taking your car down the the minor roads which are merely dirt tracks. You can drive for miles without seeing another soul. The landscape here is unspoilt and the views are great. It's a very peaceful area. As with the rest of the island, the land is strewn with ruins some of them dating back many centuries. The few villages that exist in the Karpaz Peninsula will transport you back in time. The villagers live mainly off the land and share the same roof with their animals. It's all very rustic and quaint.
